Can I travel with passport that's about to expire?

Do you know if there is a law about traveling with a passport that is going to expire soon? I've never heard of this until recently. I think it's pretty stupid that you can't travel even though your passport is still good. I am about to leave for Norway and it will still be good for another two months, I'm only going for 8 days. Thanks

Answer:

Hello,

Unfortunately, it is true that many countries around the world have a rule about soon to expire passports. Usually you need at least six months left when you go to another country. In your case, you will need to renew your passport before you go to Norway.

There really isn't a way around this type of situation. Countries that use this standard will not grant any exceptions. If you need to get your passport fast then think about hiring an expedite service. On the other hand, if you live near an Agency then you can call to schedule an in-person appointment to get a same day passport.
