Day trips from Los Cristianos

If the long stretches of beaches, great range of bars and restaurants and exciting activities on offer in Los Cristianos just aren’t enough, the fantastic location of this resort makes fun day trips easy. There’s an abundance of boat trips, shuttle buses and car hire services available to make heading out for an extra bit of fun and frivolity a piece of cake.

The most difficult part is choosing which day trips to squeeze into your Los Cristianos holiday. Make the most of Tenerife and explore the fascinating island knowing that you have the beautiful beaches and exciting nightlife of Los Cristianos to come back to.

Boat trips

Being the biggest island of the Canaries, holidays to Tenerife will at some point have you out on the open sea and the harbour in Los Cristianos is a fantastic gateway to some of the more secluded islands nearby. Take a trip to La Palma and spot the incredible fauna and flora that the island boasts and trek up the hills to take in the amazing views from one of the many observatories. La Gomera is the closest of the Canary Islands to Africa and this is reflected in its unusual and fascinating landscape. The highest points of the island are nearly always covered in mist and hikers head here from all over to explore the rocky paths.

Alternatively, a boat trip from the Los Cristianos doesn’t have to involve going to another island. There are a variety of day trips organised for dolphin spotting and whale watching. If you’re not lucky enough to see the magnificent creatures, at least you can top up your tan in a different environment!

Aqualand

Aqualand is a real treat whether you’re on holiday in Los Cristianos with a young family or a group of friends. Shuttle buses to the park run for free from the resort that will drop you off to have your photo taken with a parrot, obviously. The water park has more slides that you could hope to zoom down in one visit and if you fancy something a bit more laidback just plonk yourself into one of the rubber rings. Aqualand also runs an internationally famous dolphin show, one that is both entertaining and educational!

Jungle Park

The Jungle Park almost has more names and claims to its title than it does animals but the ‘best zoological and botanical park in the Canary Islands’ and ‘only jungle in Europe’ is definitely worth a day trip from Los Cristianos. Packed with exotic animals and beautiful grounds, the Jungle Park is one for all the family. The Bird of Prey show is particularly impressive with ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ stunts that make British pigeons look even sadder than they did before.

There are plenty of places to visit on a day trip from Los Cristianos and other highlights include a medieval banquet at Castille de San Miguel or the word class beaches at Playa de las Americas. Don’t limit yourself to just one of Tenerife’s fantastic resorts, be adventurous and sample a bit of everything this popular island has to offer.
