Being assigned with the organisation of a stag weekend or hen party can be quite a daunting task. There is an enourmous amount of pressure to get things right, as it will be the final swan song for the bride or groom and you will have to impress all the members of the party on the event. Picking the location of your event is key to the whole process, so here are a few popular location ideas to give you some inspiration:

Edinburgh:
Edinburgh is an extreamly popular location for stag and hen parties for several reasons. Being the capital of Scotland it is far enough away for most English parties to seem like your off to an undescovered destination. With outstanding architecture, Edinburgh has plenty to offer the browsing tourist and the nearby stunning countryside lends itself to activities such as white water rafting and river bugging which can be done in few other locations in the UK. Beware of the summer months or expect to pay a premium for accommodation as tourist flock to the city for the Edniburgh festivals.

Nottingham:
Nottingham has always been popular with hen and stag weekends. It's location in the centre of the country means it is generally easy for everyone to get to, and its extensive number of city centre bars and clubs make for a great evening out.

Bristol:
Bristol has recently become a very popular destination with stag and hen weekends. It has an abundance of local activities from paintball, karting, clay pigeon shooting, dance lessons and quad treks alog with a compact cosmopolitan city centre. Accommodation is relatively well priced comapred to other major cities, and you can often get a city centre 4* hotel for the same price as you would pay for a budget B&B in Bournemouth or Brighton.

Cardiff:
Cardiff has recently undergone a period of extensive rejuvenation, and in preparation for the 2012 olympics the recently opened white water centre makes a great option for a days activities rafting. Accommodation is again relatively priced provided you avoid dates around major events at the Millenium stadium.

Leeds:
If you are looking for ideas for a stag do or hen night, but don't have a huge budget, then you would be hard pressed to do better than Leeds. As a major university town, the nightlife is up their with the best, accommodation is some of the cheapest in the country, and there are all the usual hen weekend or stag do activities that you would expect in the area. Leeds also has a local airport for those travelling from afar!
