New Park Manor - New Forest Hotel

New Park Manor - New Forest Hotel

The New Forest area is approximately 144 square miles of what the English refer to as unblemished moorland as well as woodland. Visitors are absolutely charmed when they find cattle, deer, donkeys and wild ponies still tranquilly roaming free. Because of this, most visitors explore it either on foot, horseback or by bicycle. Wildlife parks as well as farms of all kinds abound. New Forest hotels are plentiful giving the visitor either a pied-a-terre or truly restful lodging.

The Beaulieu River

If you lean more toward watersports, there is both canoeing and kayaking on the Beaulieu River. However, if you are searching for oceanic adventures, there is Hythe Marine Village where you can sail on luxury yachts, either as part of the crew, or laze on the yacht and simply enjoy the picturesque views of the English coast. Charter boats are also available for the fisherman in you.

It is difficult to imagine the huge forest grounds that await the visitor as well as even stately homes that abound in the area. Hiking is a prime directive in New Forest, but you’ll also find some truly magnificent breathtaking golf courses. Children especially love to play combat games at the Old Forge battlefield, and of course, there is also the Beaulieu Abbey ruins that evoke history brought to life for the visitor. In Beaulieu, you will also find the world-renowned National Motor Museum. Following this, Keyhaven Quay allows the intrepid visitor to board a ferry to Hurst Castle, where one may view Henry the 8ths fortress prison.

Do not miss All Saints Church in Mistead, Lyndhurst. The church has been the home of Christian worship from the time of Saxons. You may even visit the final burial place of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as well as his wife when you visit.

Museums And More

The Breamore Countryside Museum is filled with museum shows as well as a huge collection of trade and agricultural tools. The house itself is still maintained as it was back in 1583, and thus is very instructional. Meanwhile your children will absolutely love the New Forest Water Park, found in Fordingbridge. There they may wakeboard or even learn waterskiing.

In addition, there are tyre rides and even inflatable bananas to be had. Should you be a tourist in the warmer months, you might also enjoy taking your children to the Lymington Sea Water Baths, which is huge swimming pool that has been filled with actual seawater. This means that you can enjoy the sea without chancing being nibbled upon by sea life.

One of our do not miss gardens is the New Forest Water Gardens. These delightful formal gardens all together cover 3 acres, but as the name suggests these are water gardens. You will see a lot of wildlife here; including dragonflies, Koi carp, ducks, goats and chickens, but the absolutely fascinating part is how the amazing waterfalls and ponds are laid out.

As you walk though the many gardens that are available for you in this area, take time to smell the roses. While you are at it, delight in the many camellias, azaleas, and rhododendrons that grow in this area. The beauty found here will truly enrich you.
