Lucky you! Fortunately, Jordan is one of the few countries that surprisingly has a reasonable application process that doesn't drive people completely crazy. I'm sure you know if you've been to other countries how stressful it can be to apply for a visa.

The Kingdom of Jordan is quite different as they have a simple, easy to fill out visa application. In this section, I would normally fill you in on some important details that you need to know.

But Jordan has made the application extremely easy to understand so I am quite sure you will not have any problems filling it out. Just in case you do, there are instructions at the bottom of the application.

You have the choice of applying for a 1 month single entry which is $37.50 or you can apply for a multiple entry 9 month visa which is $97.50. Keep in mind the clock starts ticking on the validity of your visa on the date it is issued.

If you are going on business, you will need to also include a letter from your employer stating the purpose of your trip. The processing time is approximately 5 business days although you may be able to get it faster.

If you need your Jordan visa sooner than 5 business days, either contact one of the visa expedite services below or call the Jordan Consulate to arrange it yourself if you are not using an expedite service.

A visa is required for Jordan for both business travelers and tourists. You can have the most peace of mind by deciding to get your Jordan visa ahead of time at the Jordan Consulate closest to you.

If you are not close enough or do not have the time, contact an expedite service to completely take care of it for you. Some people take a gamble and basically wait until they are at the point of entry in Jordan before applying for a visa.

It's somewhat confusing as this is allowed but at the same time, the Jordan Embassy recommends not to do this. Sadly, your hopefully thrilling vacation could go bad from the start, if there is a problem trying to get a visa on arrival.

  • As far as taking care of vaccinations, the CDC states that it is safer to consistently use insect repellent. Not just to avoid insect bites but also the possible diseases that could be passed on. For an updated list of vaccinations you need before traveling internationally, click here for the CDC website.
  • You will also need a passport that is in good condition and does not expire until six months after you are back from your trip. Make sure you have a completely blank passport page so the visa can be stamped in. If your passport is damaged, about to expire or needs more pages, contact the Passport Agency closest to you or a passport expedite service.
  • Your application needs to be completely filled out and remember to put your signature. It's quite surprising how many people forget to put their signature on the application. This could lead to delays which leads to plenty of stress worrying about getting your visa in time to make your relaxing vacation.
  • When you send in your application, payment and passport to the Jordan Consulate, you will also need to send one 2x2 inch photograph. It is highly recommended to use a photo service at stores like FedEx Office, Walgreens or select post offices.
  • Business travelers need to submit a letter from their employer stating the purpose of the trip in order to be approved for a Jordan visa. Non-US citizens need to include a copy of green card or US visa, etc.
