My Family History Trip to Warrenton, North Carolina!

This past June my Mom and I decided to take a trip down to North Carolina to see the house where my Great Grandmother grew up ... even though it is abandoned. My Mom is really big on family history and spends hours working on genealogy, so this was a real treat for her! The last time she came down to visit her Grandmothers house it was all over grown and she wasn't able to even see the house, but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised to see that it had been cleared! Now we could actually get close to it... although I have to say we were both scared because the house looks like something out of a Stephen King novel! It was spooky!
We spent a lot of time walking around looking for anything interesting and taking lots of pictures. We even went into downtown Warrenton looking for more family history facts and found out that our family house was in an architecture book in one of the local shops! We were able to see the inside of the house when it was still in good shape!
This was a really good Mother-Daughter trip and gave me a real appreciation for our family
and our history!
