by Sam Jaction
(U.K.)

Hampshire is one of the most beautiful places of England. It is rich in its cultural and natural beauty. If you are in Hampshire with your family for a vacation, you have plenty of things to see and experience. From museums to historic sites, the county of Hampshire has something for people of all ages and it can keep the whole family entertained. This means if you are planning a day out in Hampshire, you will never run out of ideas.

People, who love ships, submarines, aircraft, literature, science, local history, Roman villas, castles, or Iron Age forts, they find it all in Hampshire. When you are travelling by heritage diesel train or steam on the Watercress Line that passes through the beautiful countryside, you will have an incredible experience of watching history in motion. You must visit Whitchurch Silk Mill which is the Britain’s oldest silk mill that is still working, and get a chance to experience the past visiting the Milestones museum. This is the living history museum of Hampshire, situated in Basingstoke. Dressed up actors bring the streets of the past to life.

Visit the Great Hall made in the 13th century in Winchester, and you must see The Round Table of King Arthur. These are the crown jewels of Hampshire. Spectacular Peninsula Barracks hold for the Military Museums of Winchester. You will experience a brilliant collection of the British Army’s six most excellent regiments.

You can not miss Winchester Cathedral which is the longest medieval Cathedral in the whole of Europe. There you will have a chance to explore history of more than 1000 years.

Take your kids to Manor Farm which is a traditional farmstead of Hampshire. On the bank of the River Hamble, this farm is set within 400 acres of woodland, farm animals, building range, equipment and machinery, farmhouse, and church. The scenic beauty will dazzle your mind.

As you can see there are plenty of things to do in Hampshire for free. Get ready to have the time of your life.
