Top Holiday Destinations For The Adrenaline Junky
If you’re the sort of person that gets excited about jumping off bridges and attempting the near impossible, then it’s quite likely that you like your holidays to be packed full of adrenaline chasing. Thankfully there are now many destinations worldwide that cater for extreme sports and activities that send your heart racing. With so many places to choose from, you’ll want to make sure that you choose a destination that offers the activities you want, and also fits your budget. Because of the amount of choice that’s available, you should be able to tick all the right boxes and find somewhere that suits you perfectly.
We’ve listed a few of our favourite destinations below, but if you have any favourites or had any great experiences please feel free to share them in the comments.
Rocky Mountains – Canada
The Rocky Mountains in Canada are famed for stunning scenery and world class ski resorts. However, in the summer months the area plays host to a huge range of adrenaline packed activities. Take whistler for example, in the winter you can ski on some of the world’s best slopes; but the summer turns this resort into a Mecca for mountain biking. If you’re into mountain biking then you’ll find a large number of trails all over the Rockies. Other popular activities in the Rocky Mountains include white water rafting and rock climbing.

Victoria Falls – Zambia/Zimbabwe
Standing at a massive 107 meters high and 1,708 meters wide; the Victoria Falls in Zambia is the world’s largest curtain of water. The bungee jump at Victoria Falls is the second highest bungee jump in the world, and those who are brave enough will find themselves plunging into the depths of the Zambezi gorge. Other popular extreme sports in the area include canoeing, white water rafting, climbing and abseiling. Victoria Falls is a very popular destination due to its stunning beauty and being in Africa it definitely offers something slightly different to the usual holiday destination.

Queenstown - New Zealand
It has to be said that pretty much everywhere in New Zealand offers some amazing extreme sports, but we chose Queenstown specifically for its giant swing. If you don’t quite fancy bungee jumping, then the giant swing could be the thing for you! Suspended 400 meters above Queenstown you’re attached to the line and then released to swing out over the town; a bit like a massive version of the kiddies swing in your local park. If you fancy something different then you’ll be able to take part in bungee jumping, sky diving, rafting, paragliding and much more.

Krabi – Thailand
In the last few years Thailand has become one of the must visit destinations for diving and rock climbing. Diving trips are available all over the country, but the area surrounding Krabi also offers some spectacular rock climbing. We thought Thailand would be a great addition to the list because it’s a perfect destination for those on a budget. Once you’re there you can eat and travel around relatively cheaply. What’s more, taking part in activities such as diving excursions are much cheaper than other popular diving resorts. We’ve found that you can’t really go too far wrong with Thailand.
