Travel to Israel

Travel to Israel
A new or maybe not so new travel destination in the Middle East is becoming increasingly popular in the last 5 years. Israel is perhaps the most modern and western like country in the region which makes it very appealing to American and European travelers.
Only 3-4 hours flight from most major cities in Europe and with direct flights from New York , Miami , and even Los Angeles , Israel is easily reachable from every point in the globe.
There are some unique features that make Israel such a unique and attractive travel destination. It would be very difficult to include it all in a summarized article but I will do my best.
Diversity
Israel is only 6 hour drive from one end to another. You would easily notice the scenery and climate change completely almost every 1.5 hours of this drive. From mountains and even snow up north to wide, impressive beaches in the center and a beautiful African style desert in the South. Israel has it all.
Attractions
Israel is not the biggest place for modern attractions but still has some unique ones to offer. Scuba Diving in the Red Sea down in the “Las Vegas Style” city of Eilat, Paragliding and sky diving in the center by the beach and skiing in the winter up North ( only 2 weeks a year ). Of course floating in the Dead Sea can be considered enough an attraction worth flying for.
Historical Sites
Now this is where Israel really stands out… The old city of Jerusalem, the holy water on which Jesus himself is said to have walked on. Endless number of archeology sites, old buildings, churches mosques and synagogues.
Pricing and Accommodation
This may be a big downside, Israel can be quite expensive. While the food is amazing, the accommodation is considered high class and the transportation is modern, a trip to Israel can indeed be an expensive one.
Security
This may be the biggest fear of most travelers. Israel is known to be a country of conflict, one in which bombs go off every other day and people are killed or injured wherever they go. This cannot be more far from the truth. While Israel is indeed in conflict, this conflict is happening in very specific areas which are easy to avoid, and even visiting these areas is quite safe due to the strong security measures taken by the army and local authorities. One should take into account that having a very low crime rate in comparison to the world, Israel is a very secure country to travel in, phenomenons like pick pocketing, theft or physical danger almost do not exist.
To sum it up, Israel is an amazing and very easy country to travel in. Enjoy it!
