Travelling in Australia by Car

Australia is a continent worth travelling to, with frequent domestic flights and the ease of driving to anywhere you want on the continent. Starting with a car rental in Sydney, you can make your way up or down the road and experience travelling life in Australia has to offer.

You can hike the Harbour Bridge and see the Opera House from the top of the bridge. Then marvel in the wonder of Blue Mountains. From Sydney, you can drive to Canberra on route to Melbourne and see the beautiful capital of the country as well as its wonderful tulip gardens.

In Victoria, there are many places to visit, you can experience a piece of history in Sovereign Hill, and then make your way to Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance. After enjoying a few days in Melbourne, you can head to Adelaide via Great Ocean Road. Enjoy the view of the Twelve Apostles and the ex- Razorback Mountains. On the way experience a unique activity called the Tree Top Walk, a forest on the coast. Enjoy the sights and sounds the coastline has to offer until you reach Mount Gambier.

There are many beautiful photo worthy sceneries in Mount Gambier, after that a two hours drive to Goolwa for cockle collecting and feasting. Victor Harbour is a good place to be to visit penguins on Granite Island or to have its famous fish and chips. Traveling northwards to Adelaide, you can stop by Lake Alexandrina for a scenic shot, or have a drink in the vineyards of McLaren Vale. Adelaide has many historical churches and you can make your way further north towards Ayers Rock, Alice Springs. Truck hire is possible when you have a truck license, or offer yourself to drive one to Alice Springs.

From Alice Springs, you can head west to Perth, on the way you can see mining machinery and towns. From Western Australia, you can drive along the coast until you reach Darwin, the Northern Territory. Travel further along the coast and you will reach Cairns to see Great Barrier Reef. Moving along the coastline, you will reach Brisbane before Gold Coast. Gold Coast has its theme parks and attractions while Brisbane is a wonderful city to visit.

Driving a car in Australia will allow you to enjoy and experience sceneries and locations; flying may be a quicker option but it will not be as entertaining as seeing the beauty and wonder Australia has to offer.
