We are going on vacation, do we need passports Caribbean cruise?

Hi, I am not entirely sure if passports are required or not if you are just going on a cruise. My family and I are going and everyone either doesn't have a passport or they have an expired one including me.

Is it alright if we just take our identification or birth certificate? Or do we actually need to get a passport for the Caribbean? thank you

Every one of you will have to get a passport before leaving the United States. It is also needed to re-enter the country even if you are only going to the Caribbean. Hopefully your trip isn't too soon so you have time to get the passports.

Look into expediting your applications through the post office or even hiring a passport expedite company if you are leaving soon.
