Why you should emigrate to Australia
International shipping and immigration are two of many indicators that Australia is on the up. Both are increasing as the Commonwealth country’s economy continues to grow. Consequently the southern hemisphere state has many career opportunities for foreign nationals eager to start a new life. Perhaps if you live in the United Kingdom the thought of moving to the other side of the world is a daunting one.
However the vast majority of people who have taken the plunge and moved uprooted would swear that it was the best decision they have ever made. Australia fairs very well in many international comparisons of important factors such as quality of life, education, life expectancy and healthcare, economic output and human rights. So let’s see why you should emigrate?
Firstly there are the simple things. Of course for most people in the United Kingdom the name Australia is synonymous with fantastic weather. You could not get more of a contrast to the damp and mild British climate than the searing heat of Australasia. You must remember that a lot of the country is covered by desert land – commonly known as the outback.
However the northern part of Australia is characterised by its tropical climate and the southeast boasts a more welcoming temperate climate. Obviously it is very seasonal and there are significant variations across the country as a whole, but it is much hotter and drier, with winter temperatures at a level we experience during the spring and early summer.
If you think having more space means a better quality of life then you should consider a move down under. Australia is more than 30 times the size of Great Britain yet only has a population of just over 22.6 million people. Out of this number, roughly a third of the UK population, 86 per cent inhabit the major urban centres. Consequently there are vast areas of unspoilt scenery which you can explore.
The country is protective of its unrivalled territories of wilderness, with many protected as national parks so they can be preserved in all their spectacular glory. Efficient transport systems mean the large distances between major cities can be travelled quickly and you can get away from it all easily. There is always somewhere to go for a day out when you live down under.
Many settlers are overwhelmed by the friendliness of Australians and wax lyrical about the relaxed way of life in ‘Oz’. A tolerant multi-cultural society with excellent healthcare and welfare systems as well as low crime and unemployment rates, it is a desirable place to live. The open-air lifestyle, where outdoor activities are popular and social occasions such as large meals are done al fresco, is what defines the country’s people.
Combined with a stable economy and an immigration policy which favours people with essential skills, it certainly provides an opportunity for any hardworking individual to be very successful and build an exciting new life. If you are keen on emigrating there are informative bodies that can give you advice and practical help with starting afresh as well as international shipping companies which can transport your belongings.
